Medguard is delighted to support Kildare Wildlife Rescue through the donation of end-of-line and short-dated products, helping to sustain the invaluable work the organisation carries out in rescuing, caring for, and rehabilitating injured, orphaned, and vulnerable wildlife.
The donation forms part of Medguard’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible product lifecycle management, ensuring that end-of-line, short-dated, and other products no longer suitable for commercial sale, but still appropriate for use, are redirected to organisations where they can continue to deliver value and support educational or animal welfare needs.
The donation included a range of essential supplies such as wipes, sanitisers, dressings, gloves, and medical instruments, all of which can assist the dedicated team at Kildare Wildlife Rescue in providing daily care and treatment to the animals in their rehabilitation programme.
At Medguard, we recognise that sustainability extends beyond packaging and waste reduction. It also involves finding practical and meaningful ways to extend the useful life of products and reduce unnecessary disposal. By working with organisations such as Kildare Wildlife Rescue, we can help minimise waste while supporting causes that make a genuine difference within our communities.
Kildare Wildlife Rescue plays a vital role in the rescue, treatment, rehabilitation, and release of Irish wildlife. Their team of staff and volunteers work tirelessly throughout the year to provide care for animals ranging from hedgehogs and foxes to birds of prey and other native species, often relying on the generosity of supporters and donations to continue their work.
“We are delighted to support Kildare Wildlife Rescue and the remarkable work they do every day,” said Lisa Mullany, General Manager of Medguard. “As part of our sustainability journey, we are committed to identifying opportunities to extend the life of end-of-line and short-dated products wherever possible, reducing waste while creating positive social and environmental impact.”
This initiative aligns with Medguard’s Sustainable Packaging and Product Lifecycle Management strategy, which aims to reduce waste, promote reuse, and support circular practices across the business. Through initiatives such as stock donation and reuse programmes, Medguard is working towards increasing the proportion of eligible short-dated and end-of-life products that are reused or donated rather than discarded.
Medguard would like to thank the team at Kildare Wildlife Rescue for the invaluable service they provide and for welcoming this donation. We look forward to continuing to support initiatives that deliver positive environmental and social impact while contributing to a more sustainable future.
