John’s career with Medguard began during a period of transition. “At the time, I was just out of a job,” he recalls. “A former employee, encouraged me to help empty a container, and I’ve been here ever since.” What started as a single day’s work quickly developed into a long-term career.
Over the past decade, John’s role has evolved considerably. Beginning with manual warehouse tasks such as unloading containers and putting away stock, he has gone on to spend 10 years in packing while also developing key operational skills, including forklift driving and working with warehouse machinery. His progression is a strong example of how Medguard supports employees in building skills and advancing within the business.

Reaching a 10-year milestone is no small achievement, and John attributes his longevity to the people and opportunities he has encountered along the way. “There are many reasons I’ve stayed, from the people to the growth, to everything Medguard has made possible for me in my life,” he shares.

Reflecting on his time with the company, John emphasises the importance of patience and perseverance. “Be patient and give it time to settle, Rome wasn’t built in a day,” he advises new starters. It’s a mindset shaped by experience, reinforced by his belief that “if you put time into something, the rewards can be there.”

As Medguard continues to grow, John is particularly excited about the opportunities that lie ahead, including the transition to a new warehouse space. “Seeing the possibilities that a bigger space can bring is something I’m really looking forward to,” he says.
